Why pay for AntiVirus products when you can have them for free ?

Everyone uses AntiVirus products, and there’s a wide range of choice. From Kaspersky to Trend Micro, Sophos to McAfee – Fotec works with them all. But Microsoft is threatening to completely undermine the market with their Security Essentials product set, which is…wait for it…free !
So just how much AV do you get for nothing ?

But for now, should you fire your current AV solution and save some cost by replacing it with Microsoft Security Essentials ?
Fotec Advice: No, stay with your current AV solution for now. The Microsoft product has made a good start, but it’s not yet proven, either in sufficiently complex environments, or in any major attack sequence. We will review this subject in early summer: our advice may change then.
